Kids Under Cover is pleased to return to the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show in 2012 and excited to be recognised as the Official Charity Partner.
So, look out for the Cubby House Challenge. Six amazing cubbies built by leading Master Builders. One of them could be yours!
Kids Under Cover is a not-for-profit organisation that works to prevent homelessness by building homes and providing scholarships for homeless and at-risk young people.
Our unique Studio program provides one or two bedroom, fully demountable studios (with bathroom) in the backyard of the family or carer’s home. The Studio allows families to stay connected and eases overcrowding or family tensions while providing the young person with a secure and stable environment in which to grow into healthy adulthood.
While living in a Studio, the young person, or their sibling, is eligible for a Kids Under Cover Scholarship which offers financial assistance to enable them to continue their education. They also have the opportunity to access a mentor, through the Kids Under Cover Building Foundations Mentor Program.
When the Studio is no longer needed, it is simply dismantled and moved to another family in need. Kids Under Cover Studios last approximately 20 years and can be relocated multiple times.
